The highest-performance gliding system built for spacecraft

As Manager of Atmospheric Recovery for Outpost, I led the development of a 100 kg robotic paragliding system that can deploy dynamically at >75,000 feet and glide >70 miles.

This is the first vehicle to deploy a full size paraglider from free fall, and is the highest-flying paraglider in history.

I can only share limited details about this technology, as its development is ongoing, but I’m happy to answer questions (to the best of my ability) about what it took to make this first-of-its-kind product a reality!
